SlashNote is a native macOS app (macOS 14+) that lives in the menu bar. It captures thoughts in under one second through six entry methods: global hotkey, menu bar click, drag-and-drop from any app, voice dictation, paste-to-create, and AI quick-capture. Voice transcription runs 100% on-device via Apple Neural Engine using Whisper — no audio leaves the Mac. The AI assistant supports three providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, on-device) and handles formatting, summarization, and content transforms. The bundled MCP server exposes 20 tools and 6 prompt templates that connect notes to Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, JetBrains IDEs, and Zed.

Pricing: free with unlimited notes and core features. Pro is $29.99/year or $29.99 one-time (lifetime), which unlocks the MCP server, voice input, and 10× AI requests. No subscription required, no account required, no cloud sync — notes stay on the Mac.
